They began converting their IT resources and knowledge into a business mind set. E-zone Web services is a creative and dedicated ICT solutions provider with an excellent portfolio in Web Design & Development, Domain Names, Web Hosting and Digital Marketing. E-Zone Web Services specializes in solutions that meet all online needs to suit and build great brands. 1.2 Objectives of the training: To give me opportunity to put theoretical knowledge learnt into practice To give me opportunity to gain more practical skills To learn to easily adopt to new working environments To improve technical skills by having hands on working experience at the industrial training places. The Organisation structure The Technology department houses the various personnel whose jobs are related to the company’s technological needs. Below is the organization structure of E-zone Web Services. The core values at E-zone web services are excellence, integrity, teamwork and respect. Figure 1 1 TASKS CARRIED OUT BY THE EZONE WEB SERVICES IN SOCIETY Ezone web services gives out free internship offers to some people in the society which adds up to local people 2 DESCRIPTION OF WORK CARRIED OUT Computer repair and maintance During this lesson, we were guided on how to maintain computers repairing, where we leant using a crimping tool while operating any networking and we also leant that a blower is used while carringout computer maintance which is used to blow out dust hence helps the computers to run properly. In the illustration below I was involved in dismantling a computer 3 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ASSIGNED AND HOW THEY WERE CARRIED OUT These were the main duties carried out PHP PROGRAMMING I got started with php programming, installing XAMMP software. The student got introduced to php features using echo and php variables. Procedure on how to use a PHP to create a register form and a variable The following procedures are followed while making a register form using a PHP: o o o o o Create the database for the registration form Make the simple registration form in HTML/CSS Connect to the MySQL database using php Process the registration form input Add new user accounts to the database Different types of software that are used to code in php. • • • • WAMP (windows Apache MySQL PHP). LAMP (Linux Apache MySQL/Maria DB PHP). FAMP {FreeBSD(operating system) Apache(http server) Maria DB(database) PHP (programming language to process dynamic content)}. XAMPP (Platform Apache Maria dB PHP Pearl). Knowledge and skills acquired I was able to create a register form using PHP. I also used PHP to write integers. It has helped me not to lean only on html so I can still do the same things or more with PHP. SHAREBILITY UG Ezone web services project I handled online customer monitoring through digital marketing where i was introduced to tawk to as a site. Uploading work on sharebility Ug which acts as a pool of free education resources for teaching and learning. Uploading work like past papers and notes on sharebility Ug BLOGGING I also created an account on Trending Ug which acts as a pool of news that is trending worldwide. 4 Networking computer networking is a set of computers sharing resources located on or provided by network nodes. A computer network can be large enough to accommodate millions of computers and accessories (Internet) it can also be as small as 2 computers From Networking, I attained New Knowledge and skills which include: Good communication skills High active listening skills Critical thinking Attention to details VIDEOGRAPHY This application is used for capturing images hence moving the images on electronic media as illustrated below. SCREEN RECORDER We were guided by our Field Supervisor Mr. Mutai on how to come up with a very nice recording using a video from the camera or capture it from the screen. While applying the application no watermark, no root needed and no recording time limit. CANVA Is an online site that is used to do graphics of all types and it is simpler to use than Photoshop. The only difference with Canva is that it’s an online application but can be used create good designs. For example I was able to design a poster PHOTOSHOP This application software is used to design nice images, graphics, and paintings on your desktop. The bove application tough me how you can earn money and being creative once you get to know all the tools in Photoshop. I installed Photoshop on my phone and was able to take some pictures. I used the attained skills of Photoshop and edited one picture as shown in the illustration below: Computer repair and maintance During this lesson, we were guided on how to maintain computers repairing, where we leant using a crimping tool while operating any networking and we also leant that a blower is used while carringout computer maintance which is used to blow out dust hence helps the computers to run properly. In the illustration below I was involved in dismantling a computer Some of the tools that are used in computer repair and maintenance are: Blower, I used the blower to blow dust from the computer system. Screw driver, I used the tool to open up the computer system. Flash disk, I used the flash to install windows on the computer. 5 External disk Power tester WEB DESIGNING Web design refers to the design of websites that are displayed on the internet. It usually refers to the user experience aspects of website development rather than software development. During web designing, we were working on the appearance, layout, and, in some cases, content of a website. Appearance, for instance, relates to the colors, font, and images used. Am also equally working on my personal website that is not yet online because it is still under development localhost/nampelaannita/wp-admin. Using Wordpress to design a website With word press, you can also design a web site. Select a WordPress plan (WordPress.com only). Set up your domain name and hosting provider. Install WordPress. Choose your theme. Add posts and pages to your website. Customize your website. Install plugins. Optimize your website to increase page speed. SOFTWARE INSTALLATION Mr. Mutai directed me example to the sites that are good while carringout software installation .Bit Torrent Pirates bay GET INTO PC, I used this to download software's like windows 10, XAMPP, wordpress, Elementor, MS office etc as illustrated below: 6 NEW KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS GAINED Skills and new knowledge gained I greatly improved on my confidence in problem solving for having interacted with a variety of people from different IT expertise. The internship helped me to acquire new knowledge and practical skills and also improving on my communication skills on how to cooperate with different people in a new working environment. Networking Technical skills are necessary but insufficient for succeeding in management. In today’s increasingly competitive and demanding workplace, employees can’t succeed on their technical skills alone. They also need to have good communication skills. This is exactly the positive plus I have acquired out of the technical trainings. Via the networking, I have learnt how to work with, understand and motivate other people, both individually and in groups. From the wordpress application, I was able to attain the following skills and knowledge: I have used wordpress to design a website of my own. I also used the elementor to edit the website e.g. font family, color, slides, gallery. I have also managed to create a gallery for photos in my website. I used the elementor to edit the contact page. RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER STAFF AND SUPERVISOR My working relationship with Ezone web services There was a strong collaboration and good networking with the working team staff members were so parental, friendly, and supportive and guided us thought out our training. They helped us in different fields were necessary and always encouraged us. Mr. Mutai James was our field supervisor and he guided us while in the field to perform all the responsibilities effectively. PROBLEMS EXPERIENCED AND HOW THEY WERE HANDLED How I managed the problems I was able to catch up with the new Organisation working staff members and I also managed to understand some cooperatives and I am now knowledgeable and exposed to the running around of the real world in IT. 7 CONCLUSION In a nut shell, despite a few challenges this internship training has been so practical and has greatly impacted and contributed a lot to us both socially and professionally. The training has helped us to understand what actually happens in the field and associate with different cooperatives, potential people and other experts in IT department along their different value chains of IT enterprises they take on. Thus internship helps student to work with experts indifferent fields of computing 8 RECOMENDATION E-zone Web Services as an Organisation should endeavor to continue giving more students opportunities of internship as it is institutionally based with institution thematic areas for professional growth in IT. Every student should be allowed a chance to get this experience. 9 REFERENCES: "The Academic Forum: The Fallout From 'Bloggers Need Not Apply'."
