A concept that focuses on organization's ability to choose and implement strategic options and
actions so that it will successfully meet the challenges posed by the changing world, other
organizations and its own goals and objectives.
Strategic Planning

A process of identifying the goals and objectives that must be attained, and then creating strategies
that will enable the business to achieve these goals and objectives.
Objectives: To help organizations to identify the goals and objectives they need to achieve and
then create strategies that will enable the organization to actively achieve these goals and
objectives.
Note: Before strategic management for small business can begin, the development of a
strategic plan is necessary.
Strategic Management Planning Process

The identification of the organization's goals and objectives.

The analysis of the external environment, especially the business environment.

The development of strategies that will enable the organization to achieve its goals and
objectives.

The development of objectives that will enable the organization to achieve its strategies.

The development of tactics that will enable the organization's objectives to be achieved.

The implementation and execution of the strategies and tactics that will enable the
organization to achieve its goals and objectives.

The establishment of processes which will ensure that the business is in harmony with the
external environments.

The continuous assessment of the organization's strategies, objectives and plans to ensure
that they are in line with the current external environment.

Marketing Plan

Reviews both long-term and short-term objectives that the organization wants to meet. The
strategic marketing plan also takes into consideration the current financial position of the
organization as well as trends in the marketplace.

Very often, marketing is regarded as a service function, so the structure of the plan will
reflect this.
Human Resource Plan

Integrating human resource management strategies and systems to achieve the overall
mission, strategies, and success of the firm while meeting the needs of employees and other
stakeholders.

It should highlight the priorities, objectives, strategies and tactics, and also highlight the skills
and resources that are required for effective delivery, and it should include a roadmap
specifying the sequence of actions.

Nonprofit Organizations (NPO)

NPOs include any organization that works on any issue other than generating profit.
Members, including its directors and officers, receive no income from the organization.

Government Organizations - established by government is which support the government
and the public. Government organization which helps people in various departments and for
their welfare.
Function and Importance

They exist to provide programs and services to the community.

They often organize to take care of a need not met by the government.

They often adapt and form much faster than government-run programs and can focus on a
specialized need.
