There are four concepts that matematicians had to make up names for in order to
be able to represent real word objects in three dimensional space.
Concepts
A single location - No dimensions - ____________________
Straightness - 1 dimension - ____________________
Flatness - 2 - dimensions - ___________________
Surroundings - 3 dimensions - __________________
Conceptually, lines and planes go on forever. In a drawing, we are showing the part of the
plane or line that physically exists.

If you name a point, line, or plane,
1) No other different point, line or plane could have the same name.
2) You should know exactly which object I am talking about.
A point is named with a single, captial letter.

Lines and planes can be named in multiple ways, and are usually
named by points on them
Some terms
Colinnear - _____________________
Noncolinnear - ___________________
Coplanar - _____________________
Noncoplanar - ___________________
