-Begin to write your own CV (to be completed for
homework)

 To detail our education and achievements to date
 To explain to potential employers our work experience
 To show employers the range of skills we have
 To provide references of character – why do we need to do this?
 To show a timeline of our lives – what do I mean by this?

 In pairs, discuss the following and make a
note of your thoughts:
 What information should be included in your
CV?
 What order would you put this information in
when writing your CV?
INFORMATION TO INCLUDE IN YOUR CV
 Personal information – name & contact details – email address, telephone number, DOB,
address*
 Personal profile – What are you currently doing? What are your strengths? How will they
help you in the job you are applying for? (Hobbies/interests)
 Work experience – where have you worked and when? What was your role? Did you have
any specific responsibilities in that role?
 Education – what school did you go to and when? What did you achieve whilst attending
that school? Exam results?
 Skills – do you have a driving licence? Can you speak an additional language? IT skills?
 References – how many to include? Who to choose?

- Using the template saved as
produce your own CV.
