Production of portable lighting strikes protection kit/rods/arrester for saving farmers. A project by Md. Muyaz Ahmed Student ID:17BGE044 Session:2017-18 Submitted to the Department of the Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University, in partial fulfillment of the requirement of the Assignment of AGR321 Plant Breeding Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University Gopalgonj8100, Bangladesh Electrical storms/Thunderstorm type of storm with thunder and lightning and typically also heavy rain or hail. Every thunderstorm produces lightning. All thunderstorms are dangerous. Hundreds of people die every year in Bangladesh due to this, about 70% of whom are farmers. Usually the thunderstorm protecting kit that are available, very costly and large in size which makes them difficult to use in agricultural land. So it is necessary to produce low cost and easy to use lighting protecting kit. Project Objectives ❖ To save the lives of the farmer by creating portable lighting protection rods/arrester . ❖ And making them readily available. Implementation First stage: Creating lighting protection kit/rods/arrester Necessary accessories and equipment 1. Copper cable 1x2.00 (20fit) 2. Aluminium tube pipe (8 feet 0.5cm in diameter 1 piece,6 feet 0.4cm in diameter 1 piece,4feet 0.3cm in diameter 1piece) 3. Rod for ground earthing 1.52.5feet or this rod can be 8- Construction process 1. Join the 3 aluminium pipes like a fishing rod therefore it will be portable. 2. Connect the copper cable to the top of the aluminium rod. 3. Connect the other side of the copper cable in the soil ground by a earthing rod. 10 feet which is fixed in ground Second stage: Making readily available and practical application. Commercial or private production Practical application This Lighting protection kit can be made available through commercial and private production It's practical application need to be ensured by involving farmers. Expected result: It will be possible to make lighting protecting kit/rods at low cost and will reduce the death rate of farmers.
