LEARNING PLAN ON CLASSROOM ASSESSMENT
OBJECTIVE:
At the end of the learning activity, the preservice teachers are expected to:
A. Explain what assessment is.
B. Classify the intended use(s) of the assessment.
C. Describe the differences between assessment for learning and assessment of
learning.
D. Determine whether learning will be best measured using formative assessment,
summative assessment, or both.
ENGAGE
Memory Game: Set of blocks are presented to the students. They will match the picture
behind each block. After all the pictures are matched, the facilitator will guide the students to
activate their prior knowledge on assessment.

Group Activity: Using the jamboard, the students will work on different activities on

Group 1: Concept Map
The students will write their ideas on the
meaning of assessment.
Group 2: Venn Diagram.
The students will go over a short passage
on formative and summative assessment. Then,
they will differentiate the two using a Venn
Diagram.
Group 3: Setting Examples
The students will go over a short passage
on formative and summative assessment. Then,
they will give sample activities for each type of
assessment.
EXPLAIN
The teacher as the facilitator of learning will
process the output of each group. Alongside the
processing of output, the teacher will discuss missed
concept and the salient concept of the task given them.
A Socratic method of discussion will be utilized
for this activity using virtual presentations.
