COMMED It is the time of this generation, where challenges involve waking up and staying alive because of the pandemic. We were in and out of the hospital, knowing and not knowing what lies ahead. “In doctors we trust, in patients we understand and deliver” People in our society are not just mere passerby. They are learners, potential students and educators as well as messengers of health. Being a doctor doesn’t end in learning and earning a degree. It is also about becoming a doctor whom people especially the unfortunate ones depend on. The truth behind every professional lies beyond what he can offer and do to serve and give back to the community where he has been cultivated and been helped. The pandemic has caused a lot of stress, especially people who live in a far flung community without access to healthcare, who are experiencing distress due to limited consultations, shortened or they are too scared to go out, knowing that a lot of risks are being embodied in each person especially those with comorbidity. Brave doctors, our superiors and even the different staffs of the department didn’t stop caring and stepping their foot forward in rendering quality healthcare even if we are in this fearful scenario wherein not only our own lives are at stake as well as our families whom we left behind just to serve people. In this department, I learned a lot. Not only to become a good doctor but to become someone you can trust and develop a respectful mutual relationship to the patients. Professionals in this department are not only Doctors of high degree but as well as people who serve patients equally with honor. This is our duty, our pledged obligation. Thank you all Doctors and front liners who risk their lives everyday just to save and bring life to the world.
