It will let you go deeper about its software and hardware, parts, functions and differences. Specific Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the pupils are expected to: 1. define computer hardware and software; 2. differentiate hardware and software in terms of its functions and example; and 3. analyze how hardware and software functions and work together. ISTEE Standards: The learners will acquire the following standards: Digital Citizen - Students recognize the rights, responsibilities and opportunities of living, learning and working in an interconnected digital world, and they act and model in ways that are safe, legal and ethical. Empowered Learner - Students leverage technology to take an active role in choosing, achieving, and demonstrating competency in their learning goals, informed by the learning sciences II. SUBJECT MATTER Content/Topic: Computer Hardware Concepts: i. Hardware is the physical parts while Software is the application, memory and information inside the computer. ii. System unit is the part the comprises all the main data of a computer. iii. Control System is the process on how the computer processes data. iv. Motherboard is the main circuit board found inside the computer that connects its different parts together. III. LEARNING RESOURCES Materials/Equipment: i. Powerpoint presentation ii. Computer References: i. CyberPrime Computer 4 Manual IV. PROCEDURES A. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new lesson ELICIT The teacher will ask the students the following questions: 1. How does technology function? 2. Is technology driven by magic to work and move? 3. Or is it just driven by the advancement of science? B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson ENGAGE C. Presenting examples/instances of the new lesson The teacher will present several types of devices that use technology and let the students identify it and discuss how it works. D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #1 EXPLORE E. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #2 The teacher will present the objectives for the day. The teacher will show the diagram with the comparison of computer, human and television to get the students’ idea. The students will answer the guide questions that follow. EXPLAIN F. Developing mastery (leads to Formative Assessment 3) G. Finding practical applications of concepts and skills in daily living H. Making generalizations and abstractions about the lesson What is the difference between software and hardware? What is system unit, its parts and functions? How computer does formulates data and information? What is motherboard and its use? ELABORATE The students will identify an actual computer unit with its parts and functions. The students can discuss what they have found it in a actual computer with relation to the topic. EVALUATE I. Evaluating learning J. Additional activities for application or remediation Answer activities provided in the book after every lesson. Answer short quiz found in the PowerPoint Presentation. EXTEND Research about files and folders. V.
