A JOURNEY BY SEA It was during the August holidays in the year two thousand and eighteen. I was about ten years old. My parents and all my siblings decided to go on a holiday. We wanted the holiday to be phenomenal and extraordinary. We decided to google and finally, we settled on a journey by sea. We were first to travel to Mombasa in order to get access to the indian ocean. We took a plane to Mombasa. It took an hour to arrive in the city. We later spent one night there. We were going to Vanga island. The sea was not like anything ever created. It had a beautiful charming effect on people who wanted to just relax and go on a cruise to an island. I believe that there are so many sea lovers out there for the experience is amazing. We were lucky that it was summer. The day was a hot summer day and I could see the warm moving water which got its colour from the blue sky, was a heavenly sight. The water was so clear and clean as glistering glass, drifting the feelings away to the depth of the magnificent sea. The gentle waves eagerly pushed one another to touch the still smooth sea sand, as if they were trying to say something secret about the sea to the golden sand. Wonderfully amazing sounds came out of these touches. It was a real wonder! We had a very kind pirate who was driving the ship. He was showing us different kinds of features in the sea. There were animals such as whales, dolphins, white sharks, manta rays, ocean sunfish and zooplankton. There were so many people on the ship. People from Persia, Greece, Rome. There were no people from Kenya. Everybody in the ship seemed to worship idols. I was so scared. My parents had lended me some pocket money. Sadly, the ship started sinking. Everybody in the ship scattered in the ocean. Everyone was swimming as fast as they could to a shore to rescue their dear life. I was one of them. I was able to get to a shore safely for I am a good swimmer. This was a dreadful trip. I could not see my parents and I was far away from home. I had no form of communication. I slept at the shore for a couple of days. A good samaritan found me at the shore and gave me some money. He explained to me and allowed me to sleep at his house for a night in order to get some energy. I was now in good shape. I decided to set off for the city. I boarded another ship. I was very scared and shy. I remembered what my mother told me, “never ever talk to strangers under any circumstances.”So I just sat there like a lost creature. Which I was. I was so scared. There were people of all sorts. Some were quiet, some were from honey moons, others were all joyful while others were gloomy but I was the only one who was confused. After a long ride that seemed as if it was a never ending journey. I had no money to buy a snack. So I had to remain hungry all the way home. I was so eager to get home. Once we got back to Kenya, I had to use a bus for an aeroplane was too expensive for me to use. When I got home, my mother was the only one there. She explained to me everything and I was now once again calm. It was a very memorable journey! THE END
