Project Outline Assignment Project Outline The success of your project majorly depends on how you do your outline from the beginning. Having a project outline is crucial when writing any type of project. A project outline not only assists you in brainstorming but also makes it easier for you to write your thoughts in a manner that flows. Objective Each student will pick a country and outline the major Legal, cultural, political, and healthcare issues that women and LGBTQ+ communities faced across history, impacting their basic human rights regarding gender and sexuality intersecting race, class, ethnicity, and religion, among others. When writing a project outline it is important to: Explore the UN WOMEN (Links to an external site.) and INTERNATIONAL LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL, TRANS AND INTERSEX ASSOCIATION (Links to an external site.) websites Women's Status Progress reports (Links to an external site.) in your chosen region and country. Review the research objective of tracing women's socioeconomic and legal status within your chosen region and country. Conduct thorough research to understand and connect the lived experiences, historical events, and processes with concepts and theories of Women's and Gender Studies. Apply an innovative method of analyzing and highlighting gender and sexuality in your chosen country/society, drawing upon both primary and secondary sources. With the above steps done coming up with an outline becomes easier. After these steps ensure that you list segments to include as headings in your project. These sections in a project outline make it easier for the reader to comprehend the information you are laying across. Outline Assignment 1-Choose the research format: (1 Point) A. Research Paper/Report. B. Online Learning Resource Creation Project (webpage, infographics, PowerPoint presentation, videos/animated presentations, and any other digitally-oriented learning resource.) 2- Provide an outline to structure the Research Project: (4 Points) A research statement. (One to two sentences) Background/Introduction that would highlight today's human rights status in that region/country. (One to two sentences) Two to three main themes/critical junctures inside the research paper body. (One to two sentences for each theme) Reflection, Synthesis & Conclusion (One to two sentences) REMINDER: Final Project Format Option 1: Research Paper format: 1. Minimum 4 pages (not including references and cover page) 2. Use white 8 ½ x 11” paper. 3. Make 1-inch margins on the top, bottom, and sides 4. The first word in every paragraph should be indented one-half inch. 5. APA recommends using Times New Roman font, size 12. 6. Double-space the entire research paper 7. Include a page header known as the “running head” at the top of every page. (To make this process easier, set your word processor to automatically add these components onto each page) 1. To create the running head/page header, insert page numbers justified to the right-hand side of the paper (do not put p. or pg. in front of page numbers) 2. Then type “TITLE OF YOUR PAPER” justified to the left using all capital letters 3. If your title is long, this running head title should be a shortened version of the title of your entire paper Paper Rubric Guidelines: 1. (30%) LENGTH. Each answer should be approximately 300 words in length. For example, if your Discussion 2 assignment requires you to answer 2 discussion questions, your entry for that week should be 600 words in length total (at least 300 words for each of the 2 questions for that week) 2. (50%) COMPREHENSION. Demonstrate an understanding and application of the course readings and any other outside reading you may choose to use to answer the question. 3. (20%) REFERENCES. You MUST cite using at least 1 citation per question: • All discussion postings are expected to integrate information from at least one of the readings, class materials, and/or from an outside empirical or reputable news source. You should cite both within the text and provide a full reference at the bottom of your post. Option 2: Online Learning Resource Creation Project A Well rounded research presentation that could be presented as a: BlogPost, Webcomic, infographic, videos/animated presentation, and any other digitally-oriented learning resource. 1. Step 1: Pick an Audience: Who do you want to share resources with? Pick a real audience that you can connect with by creating an ongoing resource tool. 1. Consider: What information do you want to share? What info do they want and need? How best to reach them? Do they read their email? Do they use Facebook, YouTube, blog pages….? 2. Step 2: Gather Resources: Review peerreviewed articles/books/websites/teaching resources/ and apps, and build an Online Learning Resource Creation, a story map, etc.? 3. Step 3: Share, Promote, Maintain! Make your collection worth visiting by building a comprehensive story with a collection of at least 10 recognized resources. Then make sure your audience knows about it. Promote it to the target audience by whatever means makes the most sense in your school. And keep it going by adding a few new resources each week. The outline indicates that the student has finalized their research statement. It also includes two to three main points that will be addressed within the main body as well as a preliminary synthesis & conclusion. Total Points: 4 PREVIOUSNEXT Ratings 2 pts On Track Student is well on their way to conducting their research project.
