Production
 What is the raw material(s) used in production? Are there quality types in raw materials?
 Production process with stages and equipment? Is it mechanized or manual? Can the process
be mechanized?
 What is the floor area required to set up a medium sized production unit, and at what capacity?
 What is the installed capacity (input and output in KG or MT) – per day (one shift or two shifts?)
 What is the manpower requirement?
 What is the yield?
 Average production cost per unit? With high level breakup if possible – Raw material cost;
other chemical and consumable cost; direct manpower cost; packaging cost; and other costs;
other fixed costs.
 What is the production throughput (how much time does it take for a batch of input to produce
or convert to one batch of packed finished goods – ready for shipment)
 Does the production require any consumables, i.e., fuel, water, or, steam?
 Is it continuous process? Does the factory run for two shifts or one shift?
 Does the production have any sludge or waste/effluent?
 Does the production pose any environmental challenges – odor/smell or waste disposals?
Finished products and sales/marketing
 How is the product packed? What are the standard packing sizes – B2C customer and B2B
customer?
 Who/What are the users/target markets of the product? B2B and B2C?
 What is the competition like? Are there any competitor products in the market – local or
international products? Are there any substitute products in the market?
 Is the product currently a volume-based shipment pr value-based shipment?
 How is the product currently marketed? Which region and sector/segment?
 What is the selling price? Excluding shipment cost?
 What is the demand trend?
 Reception of the product in the local market?
 Is there any scope for expansion into international market with additional sales and marketing?
