4/9/2021 Knowledge Articles KA00002464 - How to clear a swath map KA ID: KA00002464 Symptom Unable to clear swath map. How to clear coverage on the display. Coverage map still shows even though a new task was started. Resolution A coverage map is "painted" on the Map screen and Swath Map screen on the AFS and IntelliView display when the work status is in the ON position. The coverage map shows the operator which area of the field has been covered already. It is commonly reported that the coverage map on the screen is still displayed even though a new Task was created. This is the expected behaviour in the display software. To clear the coverage from the display perform the instruction below: If a tractor performs an operation, for example, cultivation in a field, coverage is logged to the task but under the Operation. The Operation can be selected using the Operation User Defined Window (UDW), see Figure 1 (1). Figure 1 1/4 4/9/2021 If the tractor does not finish that field and returns the next day a new task will be created automatically because it is a new day. The coverage logging will still be displayed because the Operation is the same. If a new Operation is not selected, then the coverage logging will continue to be displayed on the screen for the relevant field. In some cases, a field may have repeat Operations completed in the same field throughout the year, for example cultivations and spraying. In this scenario the Operation will still be the same on the screen and therefore the coverage map from the previous Operation will still be displayed. This can cause confusion because the operator cannot immediately see which area they have covered in the current operation when they look at the Map screen. To clear the previous coverage map from the Map screen, the operator should select a different Operation, if the Operation is different, or if it is the same Operation then they should use the Operation Instance UDW, see Figure 1 (2). To change the Operation Instance, select it and select "New". The instance will increase by one, for example from 'Spray 1' to 'Spray 2'. This action will clear the coverage map from the Swath Map and Map screen. NOTE: Both UDW's can be setup on any of the six Run Screens. NOTE: When the Task Controller software is used in Section Only mode, then the 'Clear Coverage' button, see Figure 2, can be used to clear the coverage map. If Task Controller software is not being used, or if Task Controller is used in Advanced Mode, then the Clear Coverage button will not be available, and the operator should use the Operation UDW or Operation Instance UDW to clear the coverage.
