The pace of change in our lives increases beyond expectations fuelled by scientific and technological developments, changing our way of perceiving the world (Brauns, 2013). The evolution of business has achieved the milestone of making life easy and comfortable. Companies worldwide provide different goods and services to make life easier. Still, any business’s success depends entirely on the practical strategic plan that is executed effectively. Along with that, effective leadership is what drives the organization’s business to lead the market. Organizational management and business environment are interlinked with each other and are responsible for any organization’s success. Organizational management goes beyond the corporate structure because it requires leaders to develop specific techniques to solve issues to achieve business goals (Leonard, 2018). Organizational management is the process of communicating, coordinating, and accomplishing actions while keeping corporate objectives in mind. Additionally, it involves managing relationships with stakeholders, technologies, and other artifacts within the organization, making it successful (Clegg et al., 2019). Now, the world has made it necessary for organizations to adopt the change to ensure their survival. According to Sanborn, a manager's success in life is based not only on the ability to enhance and change but also to change sooner than your competitors, customers, or business (Monroe & Pagliari, 2008). Business change is essential as it allows a company to adapt to its environmental changes to improve its market Management and Organization 3 position. The past few years have entirely changed the business procedures and trends. Organizations need to respond effectively to keep their name alive in the market; they must be urged to change because of the continuously changing technology world, constantly evolving customer needs, changing global economy, etc. (Small Business, 2020). Organizational design is now the top priority of management worldwide because of increased global competition and pressure due to the continuous use of advanced information technology. Nowadays, managers focus on digging out new strategies and improved business trends to motivate employees and coordinate work activities effectively to increase the organization’s wealth(Brauns, 2013). Changing the context of management and organizations shows various effects on the business. The management and organization context changing is associated with different vital factors, such as technology, decision-making with power and politics, leadership styles, and culture and diversity. This essay will emphasize each key factor related to context change and how business organizations respond to them. Technological Impact on Management and Organizations. Technological innovations have made our life much more comfortable and straightforward than before. Technology plays an essential part in business organizations. Technology is crucial because the organization that fails to advance in technology is at the potential risk of lagging in the present competitive global market. Joan Woodward initially illustrated the technology and organization relationship in the mid-1960s. She was the first person to view the organizational structure from a technological point of view. Every organization utilizes technology in various forms for their business, which has a necessary and crucial effect on an organization’s nature, design, structure, and working. The technology’s scope that an organization can adopt or employ Management and Organization 4 is vast, ranging from simple things to investing in the latest computer-aided manufacturing machinery(Ahmad, 2014). In our recent era, information and communication technology is consistently changing the manner of business’s value creation, working ways and places, and the method of interacting and communicating with each other (Cascio & Montealegre, 2016). Technological changes have various impacts on an organization’s management. It also influences the organization’s design in many ways. Techno-structural activities are concerned with the organization’s structure, whereas inter-relationships between design and technology are related to people on the job. Technological changes can help reduce cost, improve product quality and productivity, and motivate employees to develop creative and unique approaches towards problems. It allows organizations to minimize the cost per hire. Nowadays, technological changes have changed organizations’ payment system as everyone receives their payment directly into bank accounts. Furthermore, it dramatically improves the workflow and set new organizational behaviors to help companies achieve the ultimate goal of success(Ahmad, 2014). Technological change creates a platform for possible global cooperation, communication, and implementation of new solutions. Technological changes in organizations have rapidly increased the significance of an organization’s non-material resources with time. Nowadays, information and communication technology (ICT) is regarded as the fundamental component for organizations’ successful functioning, primarily virtual organizations. It is vital in implementing technological tools, internet communication, and resource planning within the organizations (Bulińska-Stangrecka, 2016). Artificial intelligence, cloud database, blockchain management are the real changes seen in organizations across the globe. Now managers need to develop specific skills and approaches Management and Organization 5 to cope with the technological changes to maintain the organizational operation. Managers need to create a sense of urgency to have a clear eye on the goal. They need to explain and train employees to motivate them to cope with technological changes like artificial intelligence. Feedback, progression, and innovation are crucial for managers to run a successful business (Andriotis, 2017). Proper education and training related to technological changes at the right time could have benefited organizations struggling to adjust to changes, but it’s never too late to start learning. Impact of Decision-Making with Power and Politics in Organizations. One of the critical factors associated with an organization’s success is the decision-making process. It is a process of making decisions towards the strategic direction. It involved the development of action plans to implement and the control forms to evaluate their results. The corporate decision-making process is primarily used to solve issues like problematic search, incremental solution, dynamic non-linear reiteration, etc. The organization managers use a perfectly well-organized, rational, and logical process for decision-making. The three models to make decisions are rational, bounded rational, the garbage can, etc. The managers worldwide use the rational model to identify the problem, collect information, weigh the solution, and then choose and implement a solution. The second method is bounded-rationality, in which the problem is hard to identify because of limited information resources and other factors. The third decision-making process is organized based on different factors, such as problematic preference, unclear technology, and fluid participation. (Clegg et al., 2019).
