What Ransom did was unethical in several ways. It is considered as fraud since he intentionally false the information to illegally deprive money from the company. He should not report the hotel expense as he did not spend the hotel fees and did not get charged from staying with his aunt and uncle. Besides, what Ransom thought “creative” was not right as well. The firm does encourage resourcefulness, but not by “stealing” the firm’s money. By doing so, it is reflected that Ransom is a greedy, dishonest employee who does not have integrity. If it were me, I would not do the same thing as Ransom did in view of fact that it is not fair to do so. Other than Ransom’s misdeed, there are some other unethical behavior that people would likely do without feeling much guilty. For instance, falsifying medicine prescription to claim more money from the company insurance, stealing office supplies for personal use, and the like. In conclusion, doing such things are unacceptable and unprofessional for workers.
