Why do you think Sharon prefers to use these lights in her chandeliers? – fibre optic lighting means the use of small translucent hairs to make artworks and lights able to transfer light through small pieces of glass or plastic, Sharon chooses to makes these designs with fibre optics because her designs give an artist’s appeal to a simplistic light 2. what is a chandelier? What is bespoke? A chandelier is a light that hangs on ceilings often made from glass or plastic and often has a classical antique style, th often chandeliers are used in older buildings and work places from the 17-18 and early 19 century chandeliers are often now used in luxurious establishments 3. What areas of design and materials does she combine? Sharon Marston likes to combine a mixture of fashion, art and architecture into her light designs, n her artworks and light designs she classically uses fine china and hand blown glass and hand woven polymers 4. How does she use teamwork to produce her lights? Shannon uses a team of people in central London where they have a big warehouse where they make and design these artworks with her team they make every colour and light exact and so they can send it anywhere Art works (1-willow, 2-Midnight ,3- orchid) Artworks as seen above are made from polymer and emitting fibre optics and woven polymer however some exclusive art works are made from luxurious materials such as gold and fine china. such as her artwork names orchid is made from 24 carat gold mirror polished bronze and hand-blown glass 5. Sharon Marston’s designs are inspired by fashion art and sculptural design, in previous times she was a costume designer and a photographer, and prefers to make original designs that are out of the ordinary. In many of her art works carry a totem pole style with a falling or lifted effect many of her artworks are sold to hotels and luxurious events world-wide many of her designs are made from polymer and hand-blown glass.
