What effect does release height have on the diameter and shape or blood stains? In this activity you will explore the relationship between release height and droplet size. Work within groups of 2-3. Equipment Pipette/eye dropper 1m ruler Synthetic blood Graph paper Paper and White tile. Newspaper as protection for the floor Safety wear – goggles, labcoat, gloves Method Arrange newspaper on the floor and decide whether to place white paper or white tile on top first Fill the dropper with synthetic blood. Hold the dropper 50cm from the tile/paper. Release blood. Measure the diameter of the droplet in mm and record results in the table attached.
