COVID-19 is a highly contagious disease that can be easily transmitted especially by being in
crowded places (markets, schools) and being in close contact with an infected person hence the
need to build the capacity of our CP focal point and volunteers on this highly contagious disease.
Perception of the Participant;
The participants have heard about COVID-19 and they have some ideas on causes of the disease
and the preventive measures to take. They shared their views on the causes and prevention of
covid-19. Some of their views were correct, while some are part of the myths or misconceptions
spread about the disease. The training session was very interactive
Objective of the trainings;
To improve the knowledge of the CP focal points and volunteers on COVID-19.

SUCCESSES:
The participants expressed great understanding of the topics discussed during the training session
which was evident in their responses during the questions and answer session. The training serves
as an eye opener for the participants because all the myths they’ve been hearing about the disease
have been dismissed with clear examples. The participants now have a clear understanding of the
mode of the cause, transmission, prevention and control of COVID-19 and they are now well
equipped with this knowledge and are ready to utilize and share same with other community
members especially the caregivers and children benefitting from TDH intervention.
