Because of education and various campaigns, many people are starting to talk about their emotional and life struggles and are now seeking help. Many people though, do not seek purposely to Psychologists and/or Psychiatrists due to availability issues or plainly because they do not have access to these specialists. The unavailability of these specialists makes people suffer more. This training will focus on providing information on how people can educate communities about Mental Health and its importance in the total well-being of people and communities in general. By focusing on improving and maintaining wellness across all of these dimensions, rural communities can prevent negative mental health outcomes and promote recovery for individuals with a mental health struggles. Community education can help to reduce stigma surrounding mental health conditions and promote a positive mental health environment. Community members should be educated about the importance of treatment and prevention. Prevention measures in community settings can help to support individuals at risk of or living with mental health conditions. In this workshop, participants will be able to: 1. Understand what Mental Health is and its importance in the life of people and communities. 2. Educate people in communities on practical ways of taking care of one’s mental health 3. Teach strategies on how they could provide evidence-based supportive skills to children and stakeholders. 4. Help clients design actions to facilitate Mental Health Education Campaign in their local communities. As a multi-awarded fellow, Dr. Neth was recently chosen by the US State Department as one of the 4 Emerging Leaders of the Philippines with her advocacy work. She founded the 1st Mental Health NGO in the Province of Albay, the Children & Youth Wellness Technical and Advocacy Center (CYWTAC) and an HR Consultancy Service Company known as People4People Career Solutions all based in Legazpi City, Albay. She is an on-call life coach of many companies and organizations in the country. She is the recipient of the prestigious 2019 Ninoy & Cory Aquino Award for Public Service, together with the esteemed journalist, Ms. Karen Davila, given by the US Embassy in the Philippines and the Ninoy and Cory Aquino Foundation this June 2019. Dr. Neth is also the 1st ever recipient of the 1stESTEFANIA ALDABA LIM NATIONAL AWARD given by the Psychological Association of The Philippines and the 2013 ASEAN International Community Advocate Award given by the ASEAN Regional Community Advocates in Jakarta, Indonesia. Dr. Neth was likewise included in the 50 Achievers and Outstanding Psychologists in the country published in the 50 years of the Psychological Association of the Philippines Anniversary book. She qualified as PROFESSIONAL FELLOW in various international exchange programs in Japan, Belgium, Italy, Germany and the United States of America specifically in the highly-esteemed International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP) spearheaded by the US Department of State in Washington, DC. Dr. Neth regularly travels around the country as trainer to government offices, educational institutions and various non-government organizations along areas of SPED, Happiness psychology, wellness and life skills. A writer and a researcher, she published 8 books including the first bullying book in the country entitled: “Fight the Bully Battle”. As a certified Art Therapy Coach, she wrote a manual for Human Service Providers on ART THERAPY and has been facilitating expressive arts workshops for 8th year now. She also introduced and offered the 1st ever Expressive Arts Coaching certificate Program in the country. Her advocacies on wellness, happiness and education brought her to countries like US, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Kenya, Italy, Greece, Belgium, and Luxembourg, Middle East countries like Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates and Qatar as a sought-after Speaker/Resource Speaker in various trainings and conferences.
