Classroom Rules…and other stuff… 1. Let’s begin by quickly reviewing everything in this link: https://beinternetawesome.withgoogle.com/en_us/ 2. Prior to joining the Google Meet, find a space in a common area (such as a living room, family room, or kitchen) to use your computer, so that a parent / guardian is close by to assist, if needed. 3. Make sure that you are dressed appropriately for a class session 4. Log in with your school account; use your correct first name if asked to provide your name 5. Keep your audio and video off/mute unless you are asked to speak (it is still optional if you want your video on while speaking) 6. Students are to exit the call if directed by your teacher. ALSO Email me for next steps if there are technical issues (P0188289@pdsb.net OR deepak.grover@peelsb.com 7. If I cannot quickly communicate with you after a technical or security issue which forces an end of the call, then you are expected to visit the class Brightspace and complete the daily task as directed. You are ALSO expected to email me if you do not know what the next task is. 8. When the chatboard is engaged, use it to share comments that are easily discerned by your teacher 9. Sit where your device remains immobile (on a table or desk) and the camera is directed on your face. ○ Tip - Lighting is best if it is behind the computer, not behind you 10. When appropriate, raise your hand to the camera so the teacher can see that you would like to say something. 11. DO NOT share your screen unless told to by your teacher. 12. Stay focused on your class and pay attention when others are speaking. 13. Wear earbuds or a headset to mute household noise, if necessary. 14. Quit programs you are not using/close unnecessary tabs 15. Remember to be respectful, responsible, and kind
