Objectives: - Understanding that reproduction is an essential function of the living body, important for the continuation of a species. - Identifying and learning the functions of different reproductive organs. - Understanding the process of fertilisation and the formation of a foetus. Time: 5 minutes The Lesson: 1) Beginning by defining reproduction and why it is essential for the survival of a species. 2) Explaining that there are different modes of reproduction for each species. 3) Bringing the discussion back to the topic in hand i.e., sexual reproduction in animals and defining sexual reproduction. 4) Pointing out and explaining the functions of different male and female reproductive organs. 5) Explaining the process of fertilisation. 6) Showing the steps that follow after fertilisation takes place till the formation of the baby inside the uterus. 7) Concluding with mentioning that there are several different modes of reproduction that the living body is capable of going through.
