Drop Cap
I
n a written or published work, an initial or drop cap is a letter at the beginning of a word, a chapter, or a paragraph that is larger than
the rest of the text. The word is derived from the Larin initalis, which means standing at the beginning. An initial is often several
times in height and in older books or manuscripts, sometimes ornately decorated.
Watermark
A watermark is an identifying image or pattern in paper that appears as various shades of lightness/darkness when viewed by transmitted
light (or when viewed by reflected light, atop a dark background), caused by thickness or density variations in the paper. Watermarks
have been used on postage stamps, currency, and other government documents to discourage counterfciting.
Text Wrapping
In Line with Text. This option places an image on the same line
as surrounding text. The image will thus move as text is added or
removed, whereas the other options here mean the image stays in
one position while text shifts and ‘wraps’ around it.
Tight
This is similar to Square box, so text wraps image itself. Useful
for but without the rectangular around the edges of the irregularly
shaped images.
