IP6X test 1.1 Test procedure 1) The luminaire is suspended outside the dust chamber and operated at rated supply voltage until operating temperature is achieved. 2) The luminaire, whilst still operating, is placed with the minimum disturbance in the dust chamber. IPX6 test 2.1 Test procedure 1) Normal operation at rated supply voltage until operating temperature is achieved. 2) The luminaire is switched off and immediately subjected to a water jet for 3 min from all directions by means of a hose having a nozzle with the shade .The nozzle shall be held 3 m away form the sample. 3) The water pressure at the nozzle shall be adjusted to achieve a water flow rate of 100 L/min±5%(approximately 100 KN/m2). 2.2 Evaluation of test results 1) No trace of water on electrical connections, current carrying parts or on insulation where it could become a hazard for the user or surroundings, for example where it could reduce the creepage distances below the values specified in Section 11; the only exception to this is for SELV conductors where the voltage under load does not exceed 12 V r.m.s. or 30 V ripple free d.c. and the conductors are protected from corrosion. 2) For luminaire without drain holes, where shall be no water entry. 3) After completion of the tests, test samples should withstand electric strength test. 2.3 Test results Sample No. Test time S160707003-2 3min Observations Verdict After the test, no water entered in the enclosure or current-carrying parts.
