Philippine seas, a documentary by Atom Araullo.
The title of the paper that I critique is “Philippine seas” a documentary by Atom Araullo. The Philippine
Seas documentary, a special film that aims to reveal the wonders and challenges affecting the
underwater treasures of the Philippines. The seas and oceans of the Philippines are where rare marine
species and coral reefs can be found. And although the majority of the Filipinos still rely on the ocean to
survive, this treasure is currently under numerous threats. It is difficult to mention how beautiful the
Philippines is and how beautiful our marine resources are without thinking about the problems facing
these marine resources.

According to Atom Araullo (2017), he describes his experience filming his first documentary with GMA
News and Public Affairs as a “Life changing”. In order to truly get to know the Philippine Seas, Atom went
on a thorough ten-day expedition through Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, where he had many firsts in his
career as a documentary-maker. GMA Public Relations also involves discovery and expedition on the 13million-hectare Philippine Rise in a special documentary. It is claimed that this undersea plateau is
potentially a rich source of natural gas and other energy, in addition to the teeming corals and marine
species.
With good underwater camera shots, one could see the richness of rare corals and marine species. A
detailed discussion is provided in the documentary as to how the country can profit from these rich
natural resources. "Philippine Seas" is a masterpiece of a documentary. In the other hand, it is a positive
eye-opener when it informs us of the devastating consequences if we do not heed the warning of
climate change, and if we do not act fast and soon.
