Assignment on defining term.
Props: An object used by an actor that can be held, anything that an actor can pick up. Details that help
enhance a setting or character so that it makes the story believable. They are objects used by actors
during performance on stage or film which is distinct from the actors, scenery, costumes and lighting
equipment.
Characters: A person, animal, being or creature or thing in the story. Anything performing, an action and
speaks a dialogue. Moves a story along a plot.
Settings: This is 'when and where' the story is set. That is geographical, cultural and historical.
Timeline: Relationship between events and plot. That is historical, contemporary. The period on which
the story is depicted.
Dialogue: method of expressing the characters, point of view that conveys the story's mood.
Action: description of the main story of a script i.e the sequence of events leading to a definite outcome.
It is the part of the script the writer uses to describe character settings. It informs readers about his/her
behaviour on the scenes.
Movement: change in visual perception of objects.
Protagonist: It is the main actor upon which the storyline revolves.
Antagonist: The character that is in conflict with the Protagonist.
