Treatment instructions pharaoh ants
Pharaoh ants, or Monomorium pharaonis, are a nuisance in
your home, cause damage and spread easily. Proper treatment
is needed to stop the increase and spreading of further
infestations.
Habits and nuisance
• Capable of biting humans and
eating from their wounds
• Carry and transmit
diseases and contamination of
high protein foods and open
wounds
• Formation of nests near heating
pipes, radiators, heaters, ovens
and other hard to reach spaces
Appearance
• Female workers are very small,
only 1,5 - 2 mm long and are
yellow-brown
• Males are 3 mm long, black and
winged but do not fly
• Queens are 3 - 6 mm long and
brown-red in colour
• All Pharaoh ants have black
eyes and 2 small segments
between thorax and abdomen
Prevention of an infestation
• Regularly check for signs of ants
or nests around heating
pipes, radiators, the bathroom,
toilet
• Keep the house as clean as
possible to prevent infestations
• Kitchen counters and floors
should be free of food crumbs
• Vacuum on a regular basis
• Do not leave food open but keep
food in airtight jars so the tiny
ants may not enter
• Inspect furniture from other
housing before storing it in your
house
• Try to gather evidence of the
infestation for determination
purpose
• Inform housing corporation

Details on the treatment
• Do not attempt to control an
infestation on your own.
Improper use of insecticides or
other sprays causes colonies
to split and increases your ant
problem.
• Rentokil Pest Control will treat the
infestation within a total of 4 visits
with an approximate treatment
time of 20 minutes per visit
• Date and timeslots for treatment
will be communicated by email
via De Veste.
• If you are not able to be present,
you are obliged to reschedule via
veste@rentokil.com.
• Missing your appointment will
be fined by De Veste.
What is expected from you
• Be present during the given
timeslot for the treatment
• Make sure the Rentokil service
technician has proper and safe
acces to all rooms and areas that
need to be treated
• Give a clear indication of the
areas where the pharaoh ants,
their nests or trails were
signalled
• Do not remove or touch the
product(s) used by Rentokil. This
could negatively impact the
effectiveness of the treatment
• Keep monitoring the infestation
and report your findings during
the next treatment
