Possible Courses & Institutions for SRVUSD 2017 Course Advancement
NOTE: SRVUSD does not favor one course over the other, nor do we guarantee that these courses adhere to the State of
California standards, or that students will pass the placement exam (if applicable). This list is not meant to be an
exhaustive list of all institutions that can be used for Advancement; those listed below tend to be the most commonly
used. Institutions used for advancement must be WASC accredited, approved by the UCs and issue an official transcript.

take Accelerated Algebra 2. These students will be placed in the SRVUSD Algebra 2 class.

Notes
regarding
SRVUSD
requirements
NOTE: Before taking geometry outside of SRVUSD please note the SRVUSD Accelerated Algebra 2
course NO longer requires passing a readiness exam AND having A grades in Algebra 1 and Geometry.
It’s now an open access course. Click here for the revised SRVUSD math pathway information.
Students can choose from two different paths; however, both pathways arrive at Calculus at the
same time.
Path 1 ( take Geometry via a summer course)
Year 1 (SRVUSD Algebra 1 ) → summer Geometry → Year 2 (SRVUSD Algebra 2) → Year 3 (SRVUSD
PreCalculus) → Year 4 ( SRVUSD AP Calculus )
Path 2 (no summer math course)
Year 1 (SRVUSD Algebra 1) → Year 2 (SRVUSD Geometry) → Year 3 (SRVUSD Accelerated Algebra 2)
→ Year 4 (SRVUSD AP Calculus)
