B. Objectives: At the end of the lesson, students are expected to:
1. justify the need for a meaningful research on universal values;
2. discuss the characteristics of the pluralist and fundamentalist in todays world; and
3. differentiate between ethics and religion.

a) What is Ethics?
b) What are the importance of Ethics in all aspects of everyday life?
c) What is the connection of Ethics in Religion?

A. What are the basic differences between how religion makes decisions and
ethics makes them/?
B. Are religion and Ethics incompatible?

1. A. Ethics is the discipline dealing with what is good and bad and with moral duty and
obligation.
B. Ethics is a set of principles; a theory or system of moral values.
2. Ethics involves systematizing, defending, and recommending concepts of right and
wrong behaviour. A central aspect of Ethics is “ the good life”, the life worth living
or life that is simply satisfying traditionally.
