Tabitha tries to apologize for being a lousy friend to Nicole.

INT. SCHOOL HALLWAY - DAY
NICOLE is at her locker when TABITHA approaches. Nicole sees
her coming and shakes her head. Tabitha hesitates, uncertain
whether or not she should speak.
NICOLE
You have something to say?
TABITHA
Um, yeah. Look ...I just wanted to
say...
NICOLE
Let me guess ...You were just
trying to impress your new friends?
Or maybe you forgot who I was and
didn’t know who to stick up for?
Oh, I know. Over the summer you
just got cooler than everybody
else.
TABITHA
Okay ...I deserve that. I’m sorry.
I just wanted you to know, I didn’t
think they would go that far.
NICOLE
It’s not like you even tried to
stop them. Spare me the
explanation.
Nicole closes her locker door and starts to leave.
TABITHA
Wait. Just let me finish.
Nicole stops, turns around, and sighs.
What?
NICOLE
TABITHA
I don’t even know them that well.
They just asked me to go with them.
I thought we were just going to
hang out at the track while Julie
drooled over her boyfriend.
NICOLE
Look, Tabitha, you can hang out
with anyone you want. Just don’t
bother me anymore.

Nicole tries to leave again, but Tabitha persists.
TABITHA
I think you broke one of Julie’s
teeth. I got to say, that was
pretty awesome.
NICOLE
Yeah, well, she’s got a big mouth,
it was an easy target.
Tabitha laughs and Nicole allows a smile for herself.
TABITHA
When did you learn to fight like
that?
NICOLE
I take Krav Maga on the weekends.
TABITHA
I don’t know what that is, but it
looks pretty wicked.
NICOLE
Look, I got to go...
TABITHA
Can you show me how to do that kra
magaga stuff?
NICOLE
It’s Krav Maga.
TABITHA
Okay, maybe this weekend?
NICOLE
Let me get this straight, you want
to come over and let me ...you do
know I can...
(pause)
Okay. Sure. Saturday about noon.
TABITHA
Yeah? Cool. I’ll see you then.
Tabitha leaves with a smile. Nicole watches Tabitha walk away
as shes give her a devious smirk.
