What is Corruption
Do you know what corruption is? It’s like a dirty rag that stinks of money.
Everyone is aware of how annoying it was, but people also want to pick it up and hold
it in their arms for the rich smell, as if it can make them emit noble golden light. But
in fact, it was just a dirty, smelly, gloomy rag.
Corruption is flattery. Many people talk to their bosses without principle or even
against their will at all just in order to please bosses and get the status they want faster.
They used to write candied love letters to express their love to beautiful girls, but now,
they say sweet words to their bosses to satisfy their desire for gaining money and
power.During the meeting, they never care about the content concerning their work
but to applaud mindlessly and desperately. At this moment, they are much more active
than ever before and pull out all the muscle they can to attract the attention of the
bosses, as if it’s a symbol of silent promotion post.
Corruption directs to abuse. You may argue that how can this dark and malicious
matter spreads over your world, but I’ll show you it’s there, just behind your neck.
You deeply take pride in the scores you earn to enter this elite senior school, however,
soon after you enroll in your class, unknown guys with piles of big fat Fs on their
checklists enter there, too(是否能理解这句话的意思); The strangers squeezed you
out from the list of employees, you’ll be overwhelmed, and just to find their family
names are same as the boss. (逗号前后的句子能否事两个不一样的时态)It’s a
deluxe suite room with better equipment, better services, even better servants: It’s for
the privileged, never for you.
Corruption binds up with the mammonism. Mammonism is not a healthy wish.
You may doubt I'm too young to talk about it, however, I’ve witnessed a lot. It’s
probably a casual conversation over the Sunday table, mom and dad sighing for their
“disappeared” acquaintances. On the TV, those “uncles and aunties” who I even called
their names familiarly yesterday shed tears and lower their heads behind the bars,
stating the numbers of cheques that make you speechless. It's just the simplest wish
for things to go smoother: Just pay! There, corruption makes its secret slavery: to
believe money can lift them up, to believe money can bring them trust, to believe
money will reshape their life… Corruption erodes the last piece of self-dignity away,
then the only thing left are those sprouts of lusts.
Corruption is sloth administration. The laziness as green house gas permeates in
government office, social organization and large state-owned enterprise. Plenty of
staffs engage in some key positions but doing no useful work. At the beginning of
2020, the COVID-19 epidemic boomed in my hometown, Wuhan, and had posed a
serious threat to our residents’ lives. We voluntarily isolated ourselves at home
and even engaged in dangerous volunteer activities, but the mayor failed to disclose
the real condition of epidemic in time and resulted in terrible public nervous. It’s the
miscalculation of local Red Cross which caused the much-needed medical supplies
were distributed to the wrong places. It’s not challenging for us to see that only by
eliminating these bedbugs can we improve ordinary people’s well-being.
Corruption is ignoring the law. There are many criminals take the law into their
own hands and go unpunished, for example, some had been sentenced to years in
prison but scarcely served prison terms. What’s more serious, those people don’t stop
breaking the law even when they are at large! They believe no matter what they do,
they are always under special “protection”. You say this is the matter that only the
police should consider? No! It’s not far from us, ignoring the law will exert a very bad
impact on society, the rights of ordinary people won’t be protected, while the wicked
will become more and more wild to do evils.
Corruption means endless fear. Although they are well aware of how bad these
behaviors are, the desire for money and power drives them walking on the cliffs, even
a careless stagger will cause them fall into perdition, and spend their rest of life in
prison. Their vanity drive them tend to become a bright moon surrounded by
countless stars, but the fact is that they are just an awful dog poop admired by some
unenlightened flies even they get the money and power they pursuant. Just think, is
this desire for the illicit vanity really worthwhile for us to exchange with aboveboard
life?问一下 Kathy 这是反问句吗?
I might never become a politician penalizing corrupted persons using legislations,
but I am bound to keep sending audible warnings to everyone as a person with
perseverance: Corruption goes invisible as a seed in our heart, but when it takes root
and grows up in our mind, it will absorb all of our energy away. And the people
indulged in illegally luxury, gradually become zombies, can’t wash stink of money
away forever.
