Overview of AIP
WHAT IS THE ACADEMIC INTERNSHIP PROGRAM?
It is a program that provides opportunities for
high school students to have hands-on
experiences in areas of academic or career
interests prior to college or post-secondary
training.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS TO STUDENTS?
Internships help students to obtain a more
realistic view of a career area, make better
decisions about which college to attend, gain
experiences and make contacts that will help
them apply for specific college programs or
scholarships.
WHEN DO STUDENTS INTERN?
Students usually spend two afternoons per week
after school. Students must complete a minimum
of 135 hours to receive 1 unit of elective credit.
Academic Credit

You must complete 135 internship hours for 1
unit of elective credit.

Students who complete a minimum of 34 hours
but less than 135 hours may receive transcript
notation.
Making the Most of Your Internship!
It is always important to make a good first
