PROJECT PREPARATION SESSION PROJECT GUIDELINES • Passing in Project is Mandatory to Complete Post Graduate Diploma. • Weightage: 100 Marks • Preferably in your area of Specialization. • Opportunity to show your basic understanding of various aspect of management/ chosen specialization / work experience(if any) etc. • Research Methodology Content also shared with you. PROJECT GUIDELINES • For PG/PDWM students, Project is one of the mandatory subjects of Semester-IV. (Passing 50/100) • Students need to thoroughly refer to the latest applicable Project Preparation guidelines, Project Methodology & Project Evaluation criteria. • Minimum No. of Pages is 50 but not more than 100. Project needs to be typed using MS-Word with readable font size of (11/12). • Pls. convert the typed MS-Word file to PDF format and only then upload in portal. No handwritten or scanned image file submitted will be considered and will be awarded zero. PROJECT • The student shall submit one project as part of his/her fourth semester program structure. • The project shall be from the area of specialization of Post graduate diploma program/PDWM, however the students of PGDBM program will have the option to do project in – Marketing – HR – Finance – IT / Operations PROJECT • Select a project where; – You have some interest and understanding of the topic. – There is a possibility to get sufficient data. – Try and give something new or different in your topic (Research Gap). Comparative study of…….etc. • Avoid general titles like, 'Performance Management', 'Branding' etc. Title should be specific and clear. Remember title generates the interest of the reader, hence meaningful and apt title is important ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS • A brief thank you note to the people who have helped you in the project. TABLE OF CONTENTS • List of the various topics covered in the project along with the page numbers. BODY OF THE PROJECT • This would include the detailed report. SCOPE OF THE PROJECT • Aspects covered in the project EXECUTIVE SUMMARY • It is the most important part of the project. • It is a snapshot of the project. • It should be ideally in 2-3 pages, It helps the readers to know what the project is all about. • It should cover all the findings, conclusions or recommendations. METHODOLOGY • It is the method used to do the project. Mention how you have selected the sample, data collection Research Methodology: • NGA-SCE provides learning material on research methodology which the student must go through before start working on a project. • To know more about research methodologies he/she can also refer the following books: • a. Business Research Methods, Donald Cooper, Pamela Schindler • b. Research Methodology , C.R. Kothari METHODOLOGY • Choose right research tools. • Remember that research methodology is of vital importance in your project and carries significant weightage. • Literature review is very important & you need to assign considerable time to visit library & websites. • Keep the visits and information records updated, they are necessary for giving references. (Strictly avoid copying from books, web etc.) • Hypothesis …, test rightfully if you choose to go ahead with it. Tools and data collection process. DATA COLLECTION & ANALYSIS • For each objective there has to be a supportive data collected, from either primary or secondary or in some cases from both the sources. • List out such probable sources for each of the project objective and keep collecting and sorting data • Represent the data / analysis clearly and easily understandable language / format. Use correct graphs and charts as applicable • Number all tables and graphs. Prepare index and have it in the initial pages. • Start collecting data as early as possible than doing it in haste at the end. FINDINGS • It is the heart of the project. Mention the major conclusions drawn from the study. • Write findings chronologically & in line with the objectives. Give references to primary and secondary data for each finding SUGGESTIONS/RECOMMENDATION • This would be your views/ opinions on the project. You can give comments, but they should be justified and logical. • Make recommendations to different stakeholders. • Write suggestions, if any, again give reference for each suggestion. • Ensure that you are not suggesting anything which is not studied in the course of project. Ensure all the suggestions are Specific Measurable Achievable Realistic Time bound BIBLIOGRAPHY • List of books, magazines, journals, websites etc. referred by you. (Passing 50/100) · PDWM- Sem II / Semester-IV PG students will first have to register and pay for the ‘Project’ separately as the Project Registration and Submission window • Pls. Note: Project registration will not be a part of Exam Registration window. Eligible student will first have to make Exam fee Payment (Rs. 600/-) towards ‘Project’ within the dates shared as per the respective exam cycle. Only after the student registers & pays for the project, the student will be allowed to submit the project through the exam portal. · Summary • Last date to submit the Project is 15th December 2020. Overseas students to adhere to IST. • Log in to Student Zone -- Exams -- Project Submission • Pls. do not wait till the last date last minute for project registration. Try to complete the project registration (exam fee payment) a day prior to the last date of project submission to avoid any last minute banking issues. • Student who does not register for ‘Project’ in June, 2020 Exam cycle will not be eligible for Project submission for that particular exam cycle. • · Summary • Students who have registered and submitted their Project for April, 2020 exam cycle will have to wait till the declaration of April, 2020 Exam Result. • Students need to thoroughly refer to the latest applicable Project Preparation guidelines, Project Methodology & Project Evaluation criteria. • Minimum No. of Pages is 50 but not more than 100. No handwritten or scanned image file submitted will be considered and will be awarded zero. • · • Registered student needs to submit the (typed) soft copy of Project through Student Zone – Exam Menu – Project Submission for June 2020 Examination on or before30 June, 2020 before 23.59hrs. No late submission will be considered or accepted by NGA-SCE after the closure of deadline in any case whatsoever. • Student needs to submit the Project online only through the Exam Portal. No hard copy submission will be accepted at NMIMS University / NMIMS Regional Office’s or at any Authorized Enrollment Partner. Project Hard copies submitted or sent by courier by the students at Authorized Enrollment Partner / NMIMS will not be accepted. • In case of non-submission of Project after Exam Registration and Payment of Fees: Exam Fees paid will not be refunded nor will be carry forwarded to next scheduled exam cycle. The student will be marked ‘Absent’ in that respective subject & in the Mark sheet issued. · • • Project not submitted will lead to non-completion of program and thereby the student will be non-eligible for Issuance of Final Certificate. • Re-submission of Project: If the project is not submitted and / or if the student has scored less than the passing percentage criteria (less than 50 marks), the student needs to resubmit new (fresh) Project again in the next scheduled exam session but within the completion of program validity by paying the stipulated exam fees *as per the revised applicable guidelines • Please refer to the following documents under (Student Zone – Announcement Section) 1. 2. 3.
