• IDENTIFY - Identify potential accident / incident scenarios which could require
emergency response.
• PREVENTION OR MITIGATION - Determine how you can prevent those incidents
from happening and mitigate the impacts to the environment and your facility.
• RESPONSE PROCEDURES - Create a procedure for responding to these accident /
incident scenarios if they do occur.
• COMMUNITY SUPPORT - Involve the local fire departments/hospitals, etc. where
necessary.
• COMMUNICATION - Communicate this to employees, visitors, and contractors.
• TEST AND TRAIN - Train your emergency response team and test the procedures
on a routine basis to make sure that they work.
• REVIEW AND IMPROVE - Review your procedures and revise as necessary after an
accident / or incident occurs.
