Pernell-Karl Sylvester Subban was born on May 13, 1989 in Toronto, Canada. P.K’s parents came from the Caribbean in the 1970’s. His dad came from Jamaica to Sudbury. His mother came from Montserrat. He has four siblings Jordan, Malcolm, Nastassia, and Natasha. P.K Subban was drafted in 43rd in the 2007 NHL draft by the Montreal Canadiens. In 2014 after scoring two goals and the game winner against the Boston Bruins he was a subject to racist tweets. He plays hockey currently for the New Jersey Devils. He has won many awards in his career, including World Junior gold twice, Olympic gold in 2014, and the James Norris Memorial Trophy in 2013 for the league’s best defenseman.
