As you have read, animals are organized into phyla based on similarities and differences in
their structure and way of life.
Procedure
1. Use reference books or the Internet to determine the phylum into which each organism
listed below is classified.
2. Create a table to record the classification of each animal and the characteristics of each
phylum (A, 38 marks)

4. What is the main difference between invertebrates and vertebrates? (K/U, 3 marks)
5. Which animals on the list are echinoderms? Which are arthropods? What are some of the

6. Which two examples on the list are worms? Explain why these species are not in the
