Geography Homework: Development Forensic scientist o This job is essentially an application of science to criminal and civil laws of society. They provide admissible evidence to those in the criminal department. A forensic scientist analyses and collects these pieces of evidence in crime scenes, the local police may deal with. The areas the scientist works at differs, it can be outdoors collecting and identifying certain substances. On the other hand, some scientists decide to work in the laboratory, where they run tests on evidence to check it, and know with certainty that it will prove one guilty or innocent – depending on the case and evidence. o Qualifications to become a forensic scientist would be to the least 5 GCSEs (ranging from A to C). English, Math and science would be the utmost critical to have. Three A levels (a combination of science-related subjects) or an equivalent level 3 qualification are required. A certain form of degree will be necessary, either an undergraduate degree in forensic science or a science degree and a postgraduate award in forensic science to become an official forensic scientist. Not only these qualifications in test forms but in general you will traits that will help you through a job like this o Since the degree requirements change nearly every year for forensic science so it's hard to tell, you'll usually need to get between two to five years' experience after entry in order to progress to the role of reporting officer. This requires taking on your own cases, dealing directly with the police. Meaning that the evidence would have to be brought together for a statement. Giving evidence in court as an expert witness, can be a deed one of the aspects of the job, to help prove the real innocence or guilt. o . Teamwork as you'll be working with a team to analyze things, sharer ideas to make things efficient.
