Course Description:
The aim of this course is to improve listening comprehension and retention skills of the students
in their A and B languages in order to develop their aptitude for interpreting.
In this course, spoken texts on different topics in the students' A and B languages are be used for
exercises of identifying the implied information and paraphrasing.
No Required Text: Class materials (video or/and audio) will be provided on HalicX.

CAUTION:
Exams will be ONLINE. No take-home tests will be adopted.
Audio/Video will be presented during the exam and follow-up question will be asked.
Attendance Policy
MADDE 17 – (1) Öğrenci derslere ve uygulamalara devam etmek zorundadır. Teorik derslerin
%70’ine uygulamaların %80’ine devam etmeyen öğrenciler devamsız sayılır ve NA notunu alır.
Öğrenci devamsızlıktan kaldığı dersin final sınavına giremez.
(2) Öğrenci, tekrarlanan aynı derslerde daha önce devam şartını yerine getirmiş ise yeniden devam
şartı aranmaksızın, ara sınav ve diğer sınavlara girer. Uygulama sınavı yapılan uygulamalı dersler,
laboratuvar çalışmaları ve hastane pratikleri bu kapsamın dışındadır.
(3) Devamın denetimine ilişkin hususlar Rektörlükçe belirlenir. Devamsız öğrencilerin durumu
ilgili öğretim elemanı tarafından onaylanarak öğrenci otomasyon sistemi üzerinden ilân edilir.
Devamsızlık NA notu ilanı final sınav haftasından en az bir hafta önce ilan edilir.
(4) Ülke veya Üniversiteyi temsil amacı ve Üniversitenin izni ile bilimsel, sosyal, kültürel ve
sportif etkinliklere ve yarışmalara katılan öğrenciler, ilgili yönetim kurulu kararı ile o süre içindeki
derslerden de izinli sayılırlar ve bu süreler devamsızlıktan sayılmaz.
(5) Sağlık raporu ve disiplin cezası devamsızlık süresinden sayılır.
IMPORTANT: Attendance will be taken in the FIRST 5 MINUTES of the class. If you join
the class AFTER the attendance-taking, you will be counted as ‘ABSENT’.
