Operating in the Healthcare/Pharmaceutical industry, it is the secondlargest pharmaceutical company in Pakistan with a market share of 5.9%. It generated total sales of PKR 30.16 billion in 2019, with a simultaneous Gross Profit Margin of 28.3%. Abbott produces medicinal products in areas such as pediatrics, respiration, hospital care, general health, etc. Their product sold in the most volume is Brufen, while other highselling products including Arinac, Serc, and Ensure. Consequently, their customers range from the general public to clinics to hospitals; for the latter, Aga Khan Hospital, South City Hospital, and Ziauddin Hospital are amongst their major clients. Being in the medicinal industry, Abbott has several competitors, with the likes of Getz Pharma, SAMI Pharmaceuticals, and Searle Co acting as local competitors, and GlaxoSmithKline (British MNC) and Sanofi (French MNC) acting as foreign competitors.
