Guidelines for confirmed cases of COVID-19
If you have tested positive for COVID-19, you must self-isolate and keep apart from other
household members as much as possible. It is important to use a separate bedroom and, as
far as possible, a separate bathroom. Should this not be possible, you should always use the
bathroom after others rather than before and ensure that you clean/disinfect it after use. If
the kitchen is shared, it is recommended that you do not use it and that any food / meals are
left for you by your door.
It is recommended that your bed linen and laundry are placed in a separate garbage bag prior
to being washed and left to stand for 72 hours before washing. Wash on a normal cycle in
accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, if possible, using the warmest appropriate
water setting for the items.
All garbage (including garbage for recycling) should be put in double bags, and ideally
disposed of less frequently than would normally be done. If you live in an apartment block,
please try to choose a time for taking out your garbage when meeting your neighbours is least
likely.
Commonly used and touched surfaces such as door handles, toilets, cupboard and fridge
doors and other surfaces should be cleaned regularly using disinfectants with a minimum of
70% alcohol, or products containing sodium hypochlorite like domestic bleach (20ml of bleach
in 1L of water). Other surfaces can be cleaned with soap and water.
General precautions to be taken by the POSITIVE case to prevent the spread of potential
infection
• Isolate yourself in your own room.
• Make sure that the room is adequately ventilated, keep windows open as much as
possible.
• Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, and if not
available, use alcohol-based hand disinfectant regularly.
• Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or inner side of flexed elbow when
coughing or sneezing.
• DO NOT sneeze or cough into your hands as you may contaminate objects or people
that you touch.
• Dispose of used tissues immediately in bins; DO NOT leave tissues running around.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth before washing your hands.
• Keep a distance of at least 2 metre when talking to other persons.

Persons residing at the same address
Persons who live at the same address as the person with COVID-19 also need to be
quarantined and ensure that they comply with the necessary measures. It is important that
all persons residing at this address should check their temperature twice daily and selfmonitor for any symptoms. If any other household member develops any symptoms, they
should immediately call 111 to be given an appointment to get tested. Please remember to
inform the operator that you are in mandatory quarantine as you are a contact of a positive
confirmed case of COVID-19.
Testing for COVID-19
Positive cases and persons on mandatory quarantine are only allowed to leave the
house/residence if instructed by the Public Health Authorities to attend a given appointment
at one of the Coronavirus Testing Centres, or if their condition is such that they need medical
care, in which case you must first contact your doctor or hospital for advice.
Medical Care
If at any time your symptoms get worse, you should immediately call on 21231231 or
21222444 to be assessed over the phone. If you or anyone in your household requires
medical care you should phone 112 and inform them accordingly. Always remember to state
that you are a positive case and on mandatory quarantine. More information is available in
the attached leaflet.

Linji gwida għal każijiet ikkonfermati ta' COVID-19
Jekk ittestjajt pożittiv għal COVID-19, int għandek tiżola ruħek u żżomm ‘il bogħod minn
membri oħra tad-dar kemm jista' jkun. Huwa importanti li tuża kamra tas-sodda separata u,
kemm jista' jkun, kamra tal-banju separata. Jekk dan ma jkunx possibbli, għandek dejjem tuża
l-kamra tal-banju wara oħrajn minflok qabilhom u tiżgura li tnaddaf / tiddiżinfettaha wara lużu. Jekk il-kċina hija użata minn oħrajn, huwa rrakkomandat li ma tużahiex u li kwalunkwe
ikel / ikliet jitħalla għalik wara l-bieb tiegħek.
Huwa rrakkomandat li l-friex tas-sodda u l-ħasil tiegħek jitpoġġew f'borża taż-żibel separata
qabel ma jinħaslu u jitħallew joqgħodu għal 72 siegħa qabel ma jinħaslu. Aħsel fuq ċiklu
normali skond l-istruzzjonijiet tal-manifattur, jekk possibbli, billi tuża l-iktar ilma sħun xieraq
għall-oġġetti.
Iż-żibel kollu (inkluż iż-żibel għar-riċiklaġġ) għandu jitpoġġa f'boroż doppji, u idealment
jintrema inqas ta' spiss milli normalment isir. Jekk inti tgħix fi blokka ta' appartamenti, jekk
jogħġbok ipprova agħżel ħin biex toħroġ iż-żibel tiegħek meta iċ-ċans li tiltaqa' mal-ġirien
tiegħek huwa l-inqas probabbli.
Uċuħ ta’ mwejjed u ta’ oġġetti oħra li jintużaw u jintmessu komunement bħal manki talbibien, toilets, armarji u bibien tal-friġġ u uċuħ oħra għandhom jitnaddfu regolarment billi
jintużaw diżinfettanti b’minimu ta’ 70% alkoħol, jew prodotti li fihom sodium hypochlorite
bħal bliċ domestiku (20ml ta’ bliċ f’kull 1L ta’ ilma). Uċuħ oħra jistgħu jitnaddfu bis-sapun u
bl-ilma.
Prekawzjonijiet ġenerali li għandhom jittieħdu mill-każ POŻITTIV biex tiġi evitata t-tixrid ta'
infezzjoni potenzjali
• Iżola ruħek fil-kamra tiegħek stess.
• Assigura illi l-kamra hija ventilata b'mod adegwat, żomm it-twieqi miftuħin kemm
jista' jkun.
• Aħsel idejk ta’ spiss bis-sapun u bl-ilma għal mill-inqas 20 sekonda, u jekk dan mhux
disponibbli, uża diżinfettant tal-idejn ibbażat fuq l-alkoħol regolarment.
• Għatti mnieħrek u ħalqek b’tissue jew bin-naħa ta' ġewwa tal-minkeb mgħawweġ
meta tisgħol jew tgħatas.
• TGĦATASX JEW TISGĦOLX F'IDEJK għax tista' tikkontamina oġġetti jew persuni li
tmiss.
• Armi t-tissues użati immedjatament fid-dustbin; TĦALLIX tissues jiġru.
• Evita li tmiss għajnejk, imnieħrek u ħalqek qabel taħsel idejk.
• Żomm distanza ta' mill-inqas 2 metri meta titkellem ma' persuni oħra.

Persuni residenti fl-istess indirizz
Persuni li jgħixu fl-istess indirizz bħall-persuna b'COVID-19 jeħtieġ ukoll li jkunu kwarantina u
jiżguraw li jikkonformaw mal-miżuri meħtieġa. Huwa importanti li l-persuni kollha li jgħixu
f'dan l-indirizz għandhom jiċċekkjaw it-temperatura tagħhom darbtejn kuljum u jissorveljaw
lilhom infushom għal xi sintomi. Jekk xi membru ieħor tad-dar jiżviluppa xi sintomi,
għandhom immedjatament iċemplu fuq 111 sabiex jingħataw appuntament biex jiġu
ttestjati. Jekk jogħġbok assigura illi tinforma lill-operatur li qiegħed f'kwarantina mandatorja
peress li int kuntatt ta' każ konfermat pożittiv ta' COVID-19.
Ittestjar għal COVID-19
Każijiet pożittivi u persuni fuq kwarantina mandatorja jitħallew jitilqu mid-dar / residenza
tagħhom biss jekk jingħataw struzzjonijiet mill-Awtoritajiet tas-Saħħa Pubblika biex jattendu
appuntament partikolari f'wieħed miċ-Ċentri tal-Ittestjar tal-Coronavirus, jew jekk ilkundizzjoni tagħhom hija tali li jeħtieġu kura medika, f’liema każ l-ewwel trid tikkuntattja littabib jew l-isptar tiegħek għal parir.
Kura Medika
Jekk fi kwalunkwe ħin is-sintomi tiegħek imorru għall-agħar, għandek immedjatament
iċċempel fuq 21231231 jew 21222444 sabiex tiġi assessjat permezz tat-telefon. Jekk int jew
xi ħadd fid-dar tiegħek jeħtieġ kura medika għandek iċċempel 112 u tinformahom dwar dan.
