The most terrifying thing in the world might not be the failure, not learning anything from
it is. There was a memorable event in my school life, which taught me a lot and show me
the way to go on.
When I first get into the CYSS, I knew nothing about what I am going to face. The biggest
thing different from the past experience in junior high was the classmates have to work in
groups to study. This often takes place when having a big project, like drama, presentation,
and group study. I think teamwork is a really good way to cultivate the passion of learning
of the students, and save a lot of work for teachers, just like what Dr. James says from time
to time “teamwork!”
The first teamwork I take a part in was in CLE10, working on the project of presentation
with Giovanni and Eric. The process of the presentation took a long time, everyone showed
the best in the first teamwork, we even spent some of the holiday going to the Starbucks
to prepare together. In the end, on the presentation day, we presented smoothly and
successfully, even though we didn’t reach the first, we were still satisfied with the result. I
learned that if one wants to achieve something, merely with passion is not enough, partners,
resources, and knowledge are also indispensable. The most important might be the partner,
as they can be the most reliable if you are not good at something or sometimes need some
help.
The first big project ended, many classmates began to admire our technique and ability,
and some of them even invited our members to set new groups. Not long after that, another
big project came, similarly, it was a presentation again, the only thing that was different
from usual was that we were not allowed to choose our partner by ourselves, the teacher
will choose our teammates instead. The three people in the previous group were divided
into three different groups, I was a bit nervous, but as I thought about the goals I set, I
chose to be passionate and collaborative, so I tried to pull groupmates together, so we
could work on the project.
As I finished planning the project and distributed the tasks for each person, everyone got
into their own work immediately. Few days passed, on the day which we were supposed
to finish the preparation, something unexpected happened. Only I did the work as expected,
and the rest of the group found thousands of excuses for not finishing or did incorrectly. I
was confused, didn’t know what to do, but the deadline was about to come, I could only
finish the rest of the project and correct the errors. This cost me almost a night, that was a
horrible long night, I had to fight with drowsiness with merely the goal of finishing the project
and achieve a higher ranking.
In the end, I did finish the project almost by myself, but the product was quite different
from the expectation. Maybe that was because of the shortage of assistance of the
teammates, or maybe I was not great enough. Ever since this project, I was more
convinced that others are unreliable than myself, so I chose to be stronger so that I can
reach the goal by myself, without exceptions and betrayal. So, working alone and making
the work more the product more perfect has become my tenet since that project.

The material to support story which will be presented to the readers must be chosen
carefully, as in the most situations, the story has to be positive and instructional.
Use common vocabulary in order to make the content easier for readers to read.
Always mix the content with true feelings, this will make the story more realistic.
