OBJECTIVE
By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:
listen to and read a picture story and able to act out the story.
ACTIVITY
Pre lessons:
1. Teacher elicits from the pupils the names of the four Super Friends.
• Ask pupils to mime their special powers.
Development/Delivery:
1. Teacher asks pupils to refer SB p.110-111. listen and read together.
Pupils identify the words.
2.Elicit where the Super Friends are at the beginning of the story (at the
bottom of a hill) and the title (The top of
the hill). Pupils guess what the story is about.
3.Play the recording. Pupils listen and read to find out
who gets to the top of the hill first (they all get there
at the same time).
4. Pupils compare their ideas in pairs before the class
Post lessons:
1. Teacher guides pupils to read in pairs.
2. Puts pupils in group of four.
3. Each pupil take a role of one of the characters.
4. Play the recording. Pupils repeat in role.
5. Pupils practise the role play in groups.
6.Volunteer groups role play for the class.

to say the letter sound ee and identify words with the alternative
spelling ea as in beach.
ACTIVITY
Pre lessons:
1. Teacher reviews words during picnic . Displays flashcards and elicits
pupils knowledge.
Development/Delivery:
1. Teacher holds up flashcard about picnic.
2. Write see on the board using a red pen for the ee. Show
Pupils how they must stretch their lips out in a smile
to make the long ee sound.
3. Pupils repeat Just wait and see after teacher.
4. Pupils find the speech bubble in the story (frame 3) refer SB p111.
Post lessons:
1. Teacher discuss the value of modesty
2. Elicit from pupils why modesty is important (e.g.
it is not good to show off because it can make other people feel bad).
3. Elicit from them examples of when they or other people were modest.
4. Elicit why it is an important value for the classroom. (Discussion in pupils’
1st language)

ACTIVITY
Pre lessons:
1. Teacher review holiday activities. Mime an action from the unit.
Development/Delivery:
1. Teacher refers to WB p112 .
2. Read the activity instruction and check pupils know
what to do. Pupils read silently and try to identify the countries.
3. They compare their ideas in pairs. Pupils re-read the texts.
4. Check with the class. Elicit/Teach the meaning of any
unknown words.
5. Pupils sits in group of four, teacher distributes a set of sentences. Pupils
rearrange correctly.
6. Pupils rewrite in the exercise book.
Post lessons:
1. Teacher reviews the lesson
2. practise memory skills. Pupils look at WB Activity 1 for 30 seconds and
then close their Workbooks.
3.Say sentences about the picture. Pupils stand up
if they are true and sit if they are false.

Pre lessons:
1. Teacher review holiday activities. Show each flashcard quickly to the
class.
Elicit what they saw each time
Development/Delivery:
1. Teacher asks pupils to cut out their stickers with the backs attached.
Pupils look at the picture carefully, prepare the Unit 9 stickers. Elicit what
each one is.
2. Give instructions to pupils, e.g. Put the hat on the sandcastle. Pupils place
the hat sticker on the sandcastle in the picture.
3.Continue with other instructions for the other stickers
using different prepositions, e.g. Put the boat on the
sea. Put the ice cream in the boy’s hand. Put the shell
next to the pink bucket. Put the ball on the sand, next
to the man’s feet.
4.Pupils listen and place the stickers on the picture.
Post lessons:
1. Teacher review new language from the lesson.
2. Pupils close their eyes. Say It’s a lovely day at the beach. What can you
see?
3.Give pupils thinking/visualisation time and then elicit their ideas of a lovely
day at the beach

to practise productive speaking skills
ACTIVITY
Pre lessons:
1. Teacher elicits vocabulary from previous lesson. Spelling drilling.
Development/Delivery:
1. Teacher makes group of eight. Pupils stand in a circle.
2.Give each group a ball made of screwed-up paper.
3.Go around the groups saying a word from a vocabulary set. The pupil
holding the ball says the word and throws it to another pupil in their group,
who says another word in the set.
4. They continue throwing and saying words in the set
until teacher come and give them another set.
5. Review as many vocabulary sets from the book as they can.
Post lessons:
1. Teacher review what ppls have learnt in the lesson
2.Write the following sentences on the board:
I like to…..
3.Elicit from ppls what verbs they have learn today, e.g. play,dance, swim
