Resultant Velocity Problems:
 Both moving the same direction = add
 Moving opposite directions = subtract. The larger velocity gives you the direction.
11. An airplane left Norfolk at a velocity of 800 km/hr North. The plane ran into a headwind traveling at 200
km/hr South. What is the airplane’s resultant velocity?
12. Figure out the resultant velocity for the boat in the picture.
Boat = 20 knots downstream
River current = 4 knots downstream
Check your understanding (not a math problem):
13. My acceleration is -10 m/s/s. Am I speeding up or slowing down?
