Components of a request for proposal: A RFP template is a type of bidding request where an organization publicly announces that it would like a specific project completed. The RFP invites companies who can perform the work to place bids for the work. The contract award goes to the proposal the provides the best value. This process is typically used for more complex projects. The RFP will normally include (key elements): 1. Project Name 2. Project overview 3. Background section - of company and business 4. Problem that needs to be solved/project goals 5. Principal point of contact 6. Budget 7. Evaluation criteria that will be used to select the winner 8. Description of the tasks that must be completed by the winning bidder 9. Format and proposal timeline Important things to keep in mind while filling out a RFP: 1. Add the company name that is issuing the RFP 2. Add the company’s contact information 3. Include background information on company 4. Add the name of the person preparing the RFP 5. Add the identification number for the RFP 6. Indicate what services are being requested 7. Add name of project and address of project worksite 8. Specify goal of project 9. Indicate project scope and specifications 10. Provide list of project milestones/proposed project timeline 11. Specify timeline for RFP process - when is the RFP response due? 12. Indicate point of contact 13. Indicate whether bidders are required to respond with a letter of intent stating whether they will submit or decline to submit a proposal 14.
