Diagram/ILLUSTRATE MATH PROCESS OR CONCEPT A new foreign-exchange student, named Pi, was just placed in our class. Pi comes from the land of Inequality. Pi had not yet been taught the concepts we have been learning this month in math, in fact, has never even heard of it. You have decided to help your new classmate out. Since Pi still struggles with verbal instruction, you decide to help him/her learn and understand this process by creating a visual representation, explanation, illustration, of the process/skill. You can choose any tool you would like for this illustration (but drawings must be your own). Draw out on paper, take a photo and add to a Slide show (provide me with originals on paper): For example, draw on paper, use images from internet, Google Slides, PowerPoint, Insert Shapes/arrows, Use colors, a cartoon, Google Draw, Excel charts, make a video explaining it (must use some visuals as you explain), or if you are not comfortable with any of those, you can set up a Google Hangout with me and present it to me that way. Have some fun, be creative. It’s been said, “To Teach is to Learn” increase your own skills, by teaching another. Note: you will not be graded on artistic ability! Below is the rubric on which your illustration/graphical representation will be graded. CONCEPT/PROCESS TO ILLUSTRATE: Triangle Medians, Altitudes and Bisectors. What are they? What are things they have in common? What are things that are different about them. Illustrate, describe, label, explain using a diagram/poster. EXPLANATION & LABELS REQUIRED REQUIREMENT GRADING CRITERIA / DESCRIPTION SCORE Drawing/Labeling Representation contains correct labels (using academic vocabulary) of all parts that are easy to follow. Drawing/diagram/illustration is appropriate for the concept being represented. 012345 Explanation or Steps in Process Student included or listed all steps completely (using academic vocabulary). It doesn’t appear to have too many parts that don’t serve any purpose. It is apparent the student understands the process. 012345 Effort Student shows that much effort and thought was given not only to the process, but how to illustrate and/or be creative. 012345 Creativity Product is unique and sets itself apart from others. Illustration is exciting and fresh and doesn’t appear forced. 012345 *Ex Credit Opportunity: Extreme Creativity could earn you an additional 5 points. Think outside the box.
