Abstract
This research guide explores various community organizations that provide services to
individuals and married couples and offer aid to those with interpersonal issues related to
marriage or significant relationships. I was quite happy to communicate with the different
organizations to get insight into the resources available in my local community. Marriage is one
of the most popular institutions found among human beings. Although historically marriage can
be traced only to a few thousand years in the past, many sociologists agree that in one form or
another marriage had always existed in human society. “Marriage is often considered to be the
cornerstone of a healthy social structure” (Akhtar, N., Khan, A., Pervez, A., & Batool, I. 2017).
The stronger the quality of a marriage, the healthier the social structure of society. Most people
who have ever been married would probably wholeheartedly agree that all marriages include
conflict (Tallman & Hsiao, 2004). As two individuals merge their lives into one, problems erupt.
Both parties carry their unique experiences, personalities, and cultures with them into the union.
The existing similarities and differences can be exciting and attractive but may also create
tension and even fierce contention. According to Bible the first marriage, ordained by God took
place in the Garden of Eden, when God created a woman out of Adam’s rib and brought the
woman to Adam, and both of them became one flesh-GENESIS 2:22-23. Therefore, the plan of
God for man is one man, one wife. The other marriage in the bible, ordained by God, was the
one between Rebecca and Isaac-GENESIS 24:50-51.

Conclusion
I was happy with discovering the different agencies in my neighborhood that provided
services to couples that may need the services they offer. I pray that these organizations would
continue to bless and support those in need of their skills. Even though I was grateful for all the
help I received from the different agency representatives, I was somewhat disappointed. I was
unable to receive a cost for services to clients from most of the agencies. Most insurances cover
the services, and clinicians are the ones who determine the fee for the services provided.
