Lesson Procedures:
Day 1 & 2:
Begin with introductions. My name ​is​ Ms. V. What ​is ​your name? Students repeat with each other.
What day ​is ​it today? – It ​is​ Tuesday.
Spread out everyday objects ontable (pencils, markers, bottle of water, mobile phone, etc).
Pick up an object and say “It is a ……..”. Have students repeat for each object.
Then using the same objects, ask “what is it”?
After having students perform this task, pick up an object and ask “Is it a ……”. Elicit ‘No’ from Rs and write on
whiteboard ‘No. It is not a ……”. Repeat exercise for different objects.
Have students ask each other the question – Is it a ……..
Days 3 & 4:
I, YOU, HE, SHE
My name is Ms. V. I am a girl. I am happy.
Popcorn to each student. After 4 students, point to a student and ask “What is she/he ……….?” Elicit ‘SHE/HE
is……(feeling, name, nationality, descriptor, etc)
After this round – say to a student “you are…….”. What about XXXX? Elicit/guide: You are …….
Read “You and I” (RAZ, Level B). Ask “What is she/he doing” and have students respond.
