RULES & REGULATIONS Chess Chess players will be divided into 3 categories based on their age. 1) Bronze: 11-14 2) Silver: 15 -16 3) Gold: 17-19 1) The match will be of 25 minutes. Each player will have a total of 25 minutes to complete their moves. 2) Players are to use the same hand to move their piece and to tap the timer. 3) For a player to perform a casting, it is compulsory to first move the king two paces to right/left and then move the rook. 4) If the player positions his/her rook before his/her king, he/she will be barred from performing a castling. 5) Iterations of the same move thrice will result in an immediate stalemate. 6) The game will be declared a draw if in 50 moves there are no pawns moves or piece captures. 7) Players will be categorized into groups where they will play matches according to a round-robin format and players will qualify for knockdown stage. 8) Players who do not abide by these rules will be penalized and might be penalized for one match if a player violates the rules multiple times. Note: Rules might be subject to change. Accumulation of 03 points in the total score of the player. Bravo (Age 15-17) 4. Charlie (Age 18-19) All participants who have taken part in at least one international event will be eligible for Elite class. All rules standardized by PSA (Pakistan Scrabble Association) will apply in this tournament. 50 minutes will be allotted for a match with 25 minutes for each side. Scrabble clocks will be used in the International Players category. The drawing of tiles will be above the heads. Players will have to draw first and then track tiles. PSA will be arbitrating the tournament to minimize the chances of errors and breaking of rules. Note: All words approved by WEPSA can be used for the tournament. Any words that are not endorsed by the World English Pakistan Scrabble Association will not be entertained. Speed-Cubing Speedcubing will be tested on a 3x3x3 cube. All participants are requested to bring their own cubes. All Cubers must report to the cubing venue an hour before the tournament and must submit their cubes half an hour before the tournament starts. All cubing evaluations, penalizing and cube shuffling will be done by a cubing professional. All participants will get 5 tries for the tournament. Of these, the worst and the best time will be eliminated and a mean will be extracted from the remnant records.
