Experiment No.1
Aim: Case study on payment app
Software used: MySQL
Theory:
•
Detailed Problem Definition:
With the rise of digital wallets and UPI, payment apps have been on a rise.
Google Pay has the highest reach but it is PhonePe with the most
transactions. The businesses make money by commissions on
transactions, much like a credit card company. However, not all
transactions generate commission, transactions like transferring money to
a bank account don’t generate a commission. These transactions,
although don’t bring in money, they bring in a customer.
How might we increase adoption of the app and in turn increase the
number of transactions?
•
Analysis to be done:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
•
Analyze user demographics
Analyze transaction status
Analyze the number of transactions
Analyze small merchant transactions done through QR codes
Analyze payments to business and bill payments
How the above analysis improves the business i.e. above problem
definition:
By analyzing the above factors, the business can: Bring in more
customers from an under represented demographic. Improve transaction
infrastructure. Undertake discount and offer programs to increase activity.
On board more smaller merchants and businesses. Increase the
commission percentage.
