AREAS RELATED TO CIRCLES
Aim.
To cre,ate a design using sectors and se.gments of a circle.
Materials required: Colour pencils/colour papers, pair of scissors, glue
Proced u re:
1 Print and cut any number of standard sized sectors. segments, qua<jrants and circles (given in
the sheets attached below) on a coloured paper.
NOTE: MINIMUM SIX OF THE GIVEN SHAPES ARE TO BE USED COMPULSORILY
2. Arrange the shapes to get a design of your choice and stick them on a A4lA3 sheet of paper
3 Use the observation table to record the different shapes used and calculate their incJividual areas.
4. Calculate the total area of the coloured paper uped forthe shapes in yourrjesign.
5. Now you could also use colour pens/pencils to fill the s,pace between shapes with Zentangle or
Mandala art to make the design more creative.
