Standard and code 2.2. - IEEE 485 - 1997, Recommended Practice for Sizing Lead-Acid Batteries for Stationary Applications - IEC60896: Stationary lead-acid batteries. - Other relevant standards. Calculation due to normal loads (P0) UPS capacity P ≥ P0 Normal loads: - P0 = 15.09 kVA - Q0 = 9.35 kVAr (Refer to “Attachment - UPS load Analysis”, this value considered to the efficiency of loads.) 3.2. UPS capacity selected (P) Current wave height is higher than normal wave height because of the harmonic currents generated by rectifier loads Therefore: Design contingency Capacity allowance of 10 % is considered. UPS Capacity - P = 15.09 kW x 1.1 = 16.6 kW - Q = 9.35kVAr x 1.1 = 10.29kVAr - S = 19.53kVA From the above calculation, 20 kVA of UPS would be selected 3.3.
