Mike began his career as a faculty member at the University of Santo
Tomas (UST) in 2002. In 2005, he received his first administrative
appointment, making him the youngest university official at that time.
He was appointed the University Rector’s Chief of Staff in 2008 and then,
Director for Alumni Relations in 2010. In these capacities, he played a
major part in UST’s fourth centennial. Thereafter, Mike joined the
Philippines Australia Human Resource and Organisational Development
Facility, a project of the Australian Government in the Philippines, as
Program Manager for alumni engagement.
Mike obtained a Master of Leadership in Organisational Learning from
Monash University in Melbourne. He finished a Bachelor of Secondary
Education, major in English degree from UST. He was one of the
Philippine youth delegates to the Southeast Asia and Taiwan Universities
(SATU) Youth Forum in 2008. He also represented the country in the
Australia Awards Alumni Network Conference in Indonesia, International
Federation of Catholic Universities in Italy, and the International Council
of the Universities of St. Thomas Aquinas in Ireland. In 2019, Mike
completed a certificate course in Human Resource Management &
Industrial Relations from the University of the Philippines Diliman. He
also obtained a certificate in corporate governance from the Institute of
Corporate Directors Philippines.

Mike received the Australia Awards Scholarship in 2016. While in
Australia, he was elected president of the Filipino Australian Student
Council of Victoria and pioneered the First Filipino Australian Student
Leaders National Summit. As a scholar alumnus, Mike served as
conference chair of the 2019 Australia Alumni Network Summit. He is
the founder of Australia Alumni Communities Philippines – a network of
Australia-educated Filipinos. In 2018, Mike was recognized by the UST
Thomasian Alumni Leaders Association with the Award of Excellence in
Corporate Leadership.
Mike is an expert trainer, speaker, and consultant. He has authored
educational books and written opinion articles. In April 2019, he joined
Goldilocks through SM Investments Corporation as HR Business Partner
and People Experience Head. Mike concurrently lectures at De La Salle
University and Ateneo de Manila University.
